The California Republican Assembly Convention last weekend gave me a great opportunity to meet one-on-one with the Party faithful.
My goal was to introduce myself to as many attendees as I could; as important as it is to get our message out, it is every bit as important to listen. Citizens want to be heard and I was given plenty of ideas to think about and information to review.
The message that ‘Nancy Pelosi Must Go” was a common theme. The strong-arm tactics employed by Pelosi were certainly discussed, but the bigger issue was that Health Care Reform – as presented in the current legislation – is totally unacceptable. And there was the recognition that this is just one battle in the war against big government. Equally dreadful legislation on Cap and Trade, Immigration Reform and The Fairness Doctrine are next on the Democrat Agenda.
My remarks at the after-dinner event on Saturday night were well received and brought us additional endorsements and volunteers. I’m looking forward to the CRP Convention this weekend and plan to build on the momentum created at the CRA. Hope to see you there!

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - David Kiachko, twice elected member of the San Francisco Republican County Central Committee, announces his endorsement of Dana Walsh's campaign for Congress in California's 8th District.
"I wholeheartedly support Dana Walsh in her run for Congress against Nancy Pelosi. She is a fiscal conservative that will fight to bring sanity back to our spending policies and reduce the debt being placed on our grandchildren," said David in his endorsement.
He continued by praising her conservative approach to national security, "I especially appreciate that Dana is the only individual in the race who fully understands the terror threat to the United States and the importance of defending the Patriot Act. She is also the only Republican in the race who, while looking forward to the day our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan can be brought home safely, agrees with John McCain and General McChrystal that a cut and run policy, in both Iraq and Afghanistan, will jeopardize the safety of both our troops and the United States. Dana will work hard to protect our economy and our safety."
Dana is pleased to have the endorsement of an outstanding businessman and well-rounded person. David Kiachko was raised in several countries in Asia and graduated from Seoul American High School. He attended Claremont College and the University of San Francisco, graduating with a degree in business with an emphasis in finance and international trade.
After several years of marketing large mainframe computers, David moved back to Asia where he managed an international trading company in South Korea. He worked and lived there for eight years before returning to San Francisco where David has been working in the field of financial investments.
Politically, David has been involved in numerous election campaigns and has served as a member of the California Republican Party. He is a twice elected member of the San Francisco Republican County Central Committee from the 12th Assembly District. His endorsement of Dana's run against Nancy Pelosi is a natural union as they are both passionate about bringing common sense politics to San Francisco.

President Obama just concluded his Health Care Summit with Democrat & Republican leaders. I respect the President for his attempt to increase transparency, something I have been demanding from Nancy Pelosi for a long time.
However, even in Obama's introductory remarks, it was evident that the Summit is a choreographed event that will result in no bi-partisan action. Democrats will proceed tomorrow with the same extreme, liberal agenda that they have been trying to ram through legislation.
We need real Republican leadership in the House, following proven, successful conservative principles. It is the only way we will revitalize the economy and keep our country safe.
Help me defeat Nancy Pelosi!

In a Rasmussen poll released today, America’s disapproval rating of Congress reached the highest level ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports. Seventy one percent of voters believe that the Pelosi Congress is doing a poor job.
The record setting level is up 10 points from the previous high of sixty one percent, which was recorded just last month.
With the majority of Americans (56%) opposed to healthcare legislation, it is no wonder that voters believe Congress is going a poor job, as Nancy Pelosi tries to ram through healthcare reform without regard to public opinion and to the Constitution.
With Congress’ approval rating in the tank… Help me to kick the leader of them all, Nancy Pelosi, out of Washington D.C.
Please donate $10 to my campaign today on behalf of the 10% of confused Americans who actually believe Congress is doing a good job.
To the 71% of Americans who do not support the Pelosi Congress: Invest today in a better future for US Congress! Give $10 to my campaign to defeat Nancy Pelosi!

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Mike Gleim, former appointed delegate of the California Republican Party, announces his endorsement of Dana Walsh's campaign for Congress in California's 8th District.
"Mike is a very bright man and an exceptional citizen. For decades, he has served San Francisco through his involvement in several philanthropies, such as the Boy Scouts of America and Make*A*Circus, and he has done outstanding things for the Republican Party. I am honored to have his support," said Dana.
Some of his party leadership includes his time as an Appointed Delegate to the California Republican Party from 2006-2008. Mike was also Vice-Chair for Precinct Operations of the San Francisco Republican Party from 2006-2008, and most recently, Mike was the Volunteer Coordinator for the 2008 Winter California Republican Party Convention in San Francisco.

In today’s news, President Barack Obama previewed part of the latest version of health care legislation that will be unveiled on Wednesday. It is his last attempt to rescue his health care overhaul and to find a compromise between the Senate and House versions of the bill. However, Obama is proposing one new, major amendment that would allow the government to deny or roll back private insurance companies’ premium increases.
A White House official, speaking on “condition of anonymity” because details have not yet been officially released, said the insurance rate proposal would give government agencies the power to deny substantial premium increases, limit them, or demand rebates for consumers.
Here is Nancy Pelosi’s statement regarding the President’s announcement:
"The President today made available to all Americans the Administration's health insurance reform proposal, which contains positive elements from the House and Senate-passed bills. I look forward to reviewing it with House Members and then joining the President and the Republican leadership at the Blair House meeting on Thursday. This discussion will continue a year-long historic level of transparency and open debate of this crucial reform effort.”
If Nancy Pelosi believes that her close door meetings have resulted in a “historic level of transparency” throughout the healthcare debacle, then she has duped many Democrats, Republicans, and the American people.
Just days before the televised Healthcare Summit between Obama and elected officials from both parties, speak out and remind those in Washington that they are there representing you! Let’s encourage all elected officials to abandon empty rhetoric, and fulfill their duties as participants in our U.S. Democracy, as the founding fathers intended.
Speak out today, and tell Nancy Pelosi that you want real transparency in healthcare legislation – Sign the petition:

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Dana Walsh, Republican running for Congress in California's 8th District, graciously receives endorsements from current and former members of the San Francisco Republican County Central Committee, Alisa Farenzena and Terrence Faulkner.
"I endorse Dana Walsh because she is the only candidate in District 8 who understands the importance of winning the global war on terror," says Ms. Farenzena. "The other candidates cannot seem to grasp the significance of having all intelligence-gathering tactics available to us and the need to differentiate terrorists from common criminals."
Alisa is currently an elected member of the San Francisco Republican County Central Committee, representing the 13th Assembly District, and an appointed member of the California Republican Party.
While Nancy Pelosi and the White House administration weaken Guantanamo Bay, rush to extend Miranda rights to enemy combatants, and try to impress European Elites, our enemies are emboldened. Dana receives Ms. Farenzena's endorsement proudly because she understands the importance of national security and protecting American liberty.
Terrence Faulkner is the past San Francisco Republican County Chairman from 1987-1989. A strong defender of the free speech endorsement rights of the San Francisco Republican Central Committee in the 1987 Mayor's election, as GOP County Chairman Mr. Faulkner was a major plaintiff in the United States Supreme Court case of Geary et al. vs. Renne et al.
He holds a doctorate from Lincoln University Law School, and he formerly served as the Articles Editor and writer for the Lincoln Law Review.
